LAST word PRIOR the CONFERENCE: FINAL PROGRAMME, travelling info
Dear colleagues and participants of the 15th IBRC,
mere 10 days remain until beginning of the 15th IBRC - perhaps just the right time for the last information from the organizers. A detailed FINAL PROGRAMME of the Conference with a brief survey of some local information is available here. For how to come in the Conference venue and basic information about local transportation, please, check first the info-part of the attached program file and/or respective web locus (www.conference.cz/IBRC: venue). The Campus, situated in the former village Suchdol, now Praha 6, is accessible by bus No. 107 and 147 (stop "Zemedelska universita" - i.e. the northern one of the two in a map of Suchdol in the attached file). The departure stop in the town is situated in front of the Eastern entrance of metro station "Dejvická" (line A), in a large rounded square in the centre of the NW town quarter called "Dejvice". The Prague public transportation operates with prepaid tickets (26 CZK = ca 1 EUR) valid 90 min. after marking in vehicle. The point "Dejvicka" is also terminal stop of the Airport bus no. 119 and is easily accessible also from the city center and all railway stations by Metro line A. The same point - rounded square in Dejvice - should be passed also when going to Suchdol by car. The proper exit from the roundabout is indicated with destination "Roztoky". Then go alongside Vltava river and follow destination Suchdol and the dark line indicated in the campus map in the attachment. You can also take taxi (destination: Suchdol, Zemedelska universita) but be careful for incorrect accounting ( the price from Airport or the city centre to Suchdol should be about 500 CZK, i.e. ca 20 EUR). On Sunday (default day of arrival) a shuttle bus from Airport to the Conference Registration will operate at each full hour. The stop of the shuttle but will be in front of the arrival hall of the Terminal 2 (see a plan of the Airport here). The Conference student assistance (wearing yellow Conference shirt) will be present at arrival hall both in Terminal 1 and 2 ready to help you if any problem. Arriving on Sunday morning you should first take your accommodation (those of the Students hostel and coming by car should take the first right entrance to the Campus indicated "Hostels" prior to coming to the main parking). The Registration desk will start to operate on Sunday 22 Aug. at 14.00. It will be opened until late evening (ca 22) on Sunday, and from 08.00 on all further days of the Conference.
It is hard to predict which weather will appear after some 10 days - until now this August was characterized by considerable instability of all climatic currents and frequent switches from hot sunny weather (more than 30 oC) to cold rainy days (15 oC). Please take both these alternatives in account.
If anything of these information is not completely clear or you will need any further information or assistance do not hesitate to contact either the organizers or the Conference administration. We all are ready to help.
On behalf of the organizers I wish you a pleasant journey to the Czech Republic and am looking forward to meet you at the 15th International Bat Research Conference in Prague quite soon.
With all best wishes
Ivan Horacek
